The library will soon be updated with new books.

Korea’s best sellers and children’s books are being stocked for our school parents. I will receive pre-reservations through email.

The following are the new books expected to be introduced to the library at the end of September.

1) Weird Mom - writing and illustrations done by Baek Hee Na (Children’s Book)

A picture book full of kind magic that touches a child and mother’s heart

On a very rainy day, Ho-Ho’s mother receives a call at work that Ho-Ho was dismissed early due to a severe fever. Ho-Ho’s mother, unable to leave work, frantically calls Ho-Ho desperately. A faint voice can be heard indistinctly over the phone and Ho-Ho’s mother believes it is Ho-Ho’s grandmother. She asks her to take care of Ho-Ho then hangs up. However, the guest at Ho-Ho’s house is actually a fairy that is young enough to be the youngest sister of the ‘Jang Su Tang Fairy’. Will the fairy be able to successfully take care of Ho-Ho for the day?

2) The Genius Butt Detective Chapter 1 - writing and illustrations done by Fukasawa Masahide (Early Elementary Level)

One of the hottest children’s books in Korea and Japan.

The investigation genius with an IQ of 1104, Butt Detective newly returns with [Genius Butt Detective 1. The Code Case of Mrs. Bora] an investigative book meant for early elementary schoolers. This enchanting color illustration of an investigative tale starring a handsome detective with a butt face and human body, Butt Detective and his talking sidekick dog, Brown instantly grabs the attention of early elementary schoolers and enhances their investigative and logical thinking skills. “Mr. Butt Detective can solve any case!”

3) The Genius Butt Detective Chapter 2 - writing and illustrations done by Fukasawa Masahide

This is the second chapter of the series introduced directly above.

4) Winnie the Pooh, There is Happiness Everyday - Original (Young Children’s Book)

Our past selves asks and Winnie the Pooh answers.

Words of happiness delivered by the world’s most famous bear Winnie the Pooh from the legendary Walt Disney animation!

5) Going to Eat Compliments. (Author: Go Dae-Young, Illustrator: Kim Young-Jin) - Young Children’s Book

The Jiwon and Byunggwan series is an illustration that realistically depicts our children’s lives and family life. This empathy-enhancing story that seems to be based off of our own children and own lives received passionate love from readers. Through the coming-of-age tale of these incredibly realistic characters Jiwon and Byunggwan, our own children encounter new experiences.

6) Hi, Heart (Author/Illustrator: Choi Sook-Hee) - Young Children’s Book

“Should I say it, should I not, should I say it … Don’t do that!”

Bye, closed-off and deeply secretive heart.

Hi, honest and open heart who proclaims bad things bad and good things good.

The author says they created this book because, “No matter how strong the storms in our heart wrecks havoc, if we hide it quietly within our heart no one knows. But when we are young, because everything is new and awkward, it is hard to express one’s self.” This is a beautiful creative fairy tale book.

7) I want to die but I want to eat tteokbokki (Written by Baek Se-Hee) Essay, Young Adult, Adult

Aren’t there times when even while you chat and laugh with friends you’re still somehow gloomy?

“We should be not people who refuse to cry, but people who can cry when they want to.”

I propose this book as a breathtaking solution to those who have become depressed.

This book is the creation of a 12-week long conversation between the author, who has persistent depressive order (a mild form of depression that is continuous), and a mental health expert. This is a book meant for people who appear to be okay on the outside but hold sadness within and people who aren’t extremely depressed but also not happy.

8) Harry Vol. 1 (Written by Gong Ji-Young) - Novel

This is a new book from the rising author Gong Ji-Young, who has come back in 5 years after [Tall, Blue Ladder].

In order to write this book, the author personally jumped into real-life scenes and investigated for 5 years, using her research to create a 2-volume novel series. The struggles of the weak fighting against a nefarious cartel created by unrighteous humans is captured within this novel. Unusually shocking because it grapples with the evil truth lying beneath the truth we all believed to be good without suspicion, this book has lately become a hot issue and garnered mass attention.

9) Harry Vol. 2 (Written by Gong Ji-Young) - Novel

This is the second (final) volume of the series introduced directly above.

10) Miracles of the Namiya General Store (Written by Hagashino Keigo) - Novel

This book is Hagashino Keigo’s most special masterpiece, a best-seller with over a million copies sold.

About a mailbox that people go to during important times of struggle, this book is like a reply we send to ourselves.

This is a mysterious story that takes place in the worn-out, rural Namiya General Store, which has been abandoned for around 30 years. One day, three thieves on the run from the police after committing a robbery hide in the store when a letter addressed to ‘Owner of Namiya General Store’ arrives unexpectedly. The three open the envelope with hearts full of suspicion and fear. Surprisingly, the letter was asking for consultation and the three sends a reply to the desperate message. These certification-less consultors’ advice goes in an unforeseen direction, revealing an old secret of the Namiya General Store and creates a one-night miracle.

11) The Vow: Unbreakable Promise (Written by Yakumaru Gaku) - Novel (Mystery)

This is one of Yakumar Gaku’s masterpieces, one of the best authors of mystery novels. It grapples with the sin the main character committed in the past and the mystery involving a certain 15-year-old promise. How should people repent for their sins? If someone commits a sin, can they never be happy and never dream of a new life? This Japanese best-seller mystery novel questions the true meaning of punishment and forgiveness. This book has been described as the opening of a new curtain for Gaku, and a monumental piece that takes a new step forward.
