KSNE eNews 2019Spring-Mar.27(K & E version)- Room Mother Meeting and Upcoming School Events

Please refer to the following notices and the academic calendar for the 2019 Spring Semester.

    - This Saturday, there will be a meeting for the room mothers in each class at 10 AM. 

   (5 minutes before the meeting [9:55], the random choosing of titles for the 13th annual KSNE writing contest will take place, so it would be greatly appreciated if attendees are on time.)

<1> Upcoming School Events for the Spring Semester (March-April)

  1) March 23 ~ 30: 2019 SAT Korean Pilot Test (Organized by NAKS)

  2) March 30: Spring Semester PTA mandatory meeting for all class room mothers: A discussion session will be held to prepare for          various PTA activities and the May 4 Spring Bazaar. 

  3) March 30: KSNE will host the in-school 13th annual Korean writing contest

    * During last week 's room mother meeting, two titles have been randomly chosen (number only) for the in-school writing contest by the room mothers.

    * Depending on the number selected, the actual title of each each class will be sent to the supervisor of each class on the day of the competition.

    * Writing Competition Participants: Pre Kinder to 12th Grade (those who are taking writing class) -  beginner, intermediate, and advanced course classes (Sejong course will have its own translation competition)

    * Award: Each class will recieve: grand prize, gold, silver, and bronze awards, and Korean and Sejong awards(* grand prize will be awarded as principal prize, parent presidential prize, and chairperson award)

    * Awards ceremony: April 6th at the auditorium

  4) April 06: New England Regional Korean writing Contest (Organized by NAKS)

      -. Award Ceremony Details: Consulate General Prize, Grand Prize, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. (Pre Kinder students are all awarded)

      -. Deadline for submissions is March 30th - Submit to classroom teacher

         (The application fee for students applying prior to March 30 is paid for by the school)

      -. The 15th 'My Dream Speech' Contest NE Regional Preliminary Competition: Applications will be given to the homeroom teacher until March 28th.

      -.Age requirement: Students born between January 1, 2001 and December 31, 2007

      -. Main Event: Organized by NAKS / July 18-20, Seattle Conference Qualification

  5) April 6: Sejong Parent Questionnaire Survey (Sejong Parent Conference / Development of New Education Plan and Preparatory Classes in May)

  6) April 13th: Mathematics competition hosted by KSEA (http://www.ksea.org/nmsc/)

7) April 20: Spring Break / No School-Spring Break

8) May 4: PTO Spring Bazaar
