[2020.05.23] Mask Distribution Event Information

Dear parents,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day! It’s hard to believe that it is already time to start planning for the end of the spring semester. In the past years, we would be having a busy time working in the classroom and in the auditorium to prepare for graduation and the end of semester ceremony, but this year we will have all the final ceremonies online as well as our assessments.
1. We plan to conduct our assessment and online end as follows.
1) Korean language assessment: It will be conducted in each class on June 6, 2020 2) Online end of semester ceremony catalogue:
-. June 13, 2020, we will hold the end of semester ceremony beginning at 10 AM, and will last about 30 minutes.
-. The national anthem will be sung by the KSNE Students Anthem Group and thanks for the students and their parents.
-. A congratulatory speech from the Consulate General of Boston & Principal Nam & teachers -. A montage of scenes in zoom classes will play.
-. Principal Nam will inform about the schedule for the Fall 2020 semester.
-. We will send another email with more details in the near future.
2. The school has bought an abundance of face masks.
-. We have bought face masks with the intention of distributing them to the Korean school students and their families.
1) Mask distribution plan /City of Newton permitted
-.Time & Place: 12:40~1:00pm on May 23(Sat), in front of Oak Hill Middle School -. May 23, Memorial Day: Each class will have their own allotted time slot for their opportunity to come to the face mask drive through.
-. Families will be able to remain within the car as our volunteers distribute the masks from inside their cars as well.
-. Need your RSVP give to child’s homeroom teacher by May.18
2) Further methods being discussed:
-. Regarding the possibility for a need for even more masks after September. -. Once the fall semester begins, more masks will be handed out to each family in need -. We are trying to purchase and distribute KF94, KF80 masks from the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which are not allowed to export without permission.
